LightTube is ideal for architectural lighting applications. They are festoons of SELV miniature incandescent lamps inside flexible polycarbonate tubes. A choice of 12.8mm diameter or 6.4 x 8.0mm profiles means that they can by incorporated into the smallest details. They can be utilised for a variety of decorative uses including chandeliers, but they are particularly useful for a gentle wash of light above a coving, or for backlighting a panel or mirror etc. Lamp life of over 25,000 hours means this is effectively a no maintenance solution. 12.8mm diameter LED LightTube offers life in excess of 50,000 hours with vibrant colours and even lower heat.
Typical applications include:
Architectural Lighting:
- A continuous wash of warm white light above covings.
- Backlighting mirrors or panels in domestic or commercial premises.
- A continuous wash of light under internal and external stairnosings.
- For swimming pool areas, 12V systems are available instead of the standard 24V.
- Ideal as part of a maintained emergency lighting system.
- Lighting decking areas, walkways and footbridges underneath the platform or in handrails.
Display Lighting:
- Subtle under shelf lighting giving sparkle to glass or ceramics etc.
- Low heat discreet lighting of library shelves without UV to affect book spines.
- Lighting inside display cabinets easily controlled by micro switches in doors.
Decorative Lighting:
- Chandeliers and “Light Curtains” particularly where there is a long drop like a stairwell or atrium.
- Feature effects for leisure projects.
- Creating shapes with curves or straight lines on ceilings and floors.
- With colours or chasing effects for area delineation, route marking or emergency exit indication.
- Set in stairnosings or banister rails.
Indirect illumination
- Indicating changes in floor levels such as steps and ramps in public areas.
